Zion Equity Team Umbrella
Zion Lutheran Church Anoka
Zion’s Equity Team is divided into four teams to best address the concerns and issues facing our church and community. These teams are:
1. Neighborhood Engagement Team (NET) works at being present in our neighborhoods and inviting others into a welcoming community where God’s grace is shared and faith is deepened.
2. Creation Care Team seeks to build awareness among our congregation and as individuals to create a more sustainable, just, and equitable community. As a congregation, we strive to take action to better care for God’s Creation.
3. Social Justice Team seeks to listen, learn, and advocate for a more just and equitable community. As a congregation, our mission is to find strength in our diversity, embrace cultural differences, and be united by our common humanity.
4. Zion Addiction Awareness Ministry (ZAAM) seeks to offer a safe place of hope, support, and advocacy for those seeking recovery so that we can build resilience and thrive in our lives and communities. The Zion Church Council also approved a partnership with The Center of Addiction and Faith, an organization dedicated to helping faith communities perform this role.

Social Justice
There will be a Social Justice Team meeting on April 3 at 6 p.m. in the Legacy Room. All are welcome to join this developing team.
ZAAM
The next meeting of the Addiction Awareness Ministry will be April 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the Library. All who are welcome to attend.
Creation Care
The next meeting of the Creation Care Team will be Tuesday, April 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the Fireside Room. All who are interested are invited to attend.
NET Team
The next meeting of the Neighborhood Engagement Team will be Tuesday, April 8 at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. All are welcome to attend.
NexTrex Challenge
In less than three months we reached our goal of 1,000 lbs of plastic! Zion will receive a bench made of NexTrex recycled plastic for our green space.
