All Saints Weekend and Luminaries for Loved Ones
All Saints Weekend is November 2 & 3 and it is when we acknowledge those we love and cherish who, during this past year, were commended into the arms of our Savior’s mercy for the blessed rest of everlasting peace. During worship on both Saturday and Sunday, we will name the Zion members who have died this past year, as well as give you the opportunity to write a name on a card of the saint you would like to remember.
In the evening, we will have our Luminaries for Loved Ones event in the Christian Life Center (our gym) from 5-6:30 p.m. You will have the opportunity to walk a path through the luminaries and will be given prayer helpers if you would like them. You are invited to pick up a white paper bag from church, decorate it any way you would like, or just write the name of your loved one on the bag. It’s always good to write the name using darker colors so it can be read in the dimly lit room. We will collect the completed bags through noon on November 3, when we will have a group fill each bag with a tea light and make the path in our CLC.
