Advent begins the weekend of November 30 and December 1. The Christmas hymn “Of the Father’s Love Begotten” is a rich and beautiful text that highlights the eternal nature of Christ’s divinity and the mystery of his incarnation. Each week during Advent, we will highlight a verse from this hymn in our reading, our prayers, preaching, and in the Advent wreath prayers, especially since candles represent the light of Christ coming into the world.
